In the coming decade, the number of EV charging stations is expected to grow significantly, heralding a future where every vehicle has its own charger. As cars shift from mere modes of transportation to personalized spaces, we envision a new kind of lifestyle: electrified nomadism. In a post-pandemic world where personal distance and privacy are more valued than ever, EV users become energy-driven urban nomads, moving from one power source to another.
This concept transforms the downtime of charging into an opportunity. Instead of seeing charging as a constraint, we reimagine it as a moment of spatial pause—where vehicles become short-term offices, private pods, or resting havens amidst the density of the city.
“Electrified Nomadic Living” proposes a future scenario where EVs are not only transportation devices but also intimate personal spaces. Inspired by the imagery of tents, each charging station becomes a temporary shelter. Through an immersive projection system, users are offered a private experience during the charging session—whether for work, entertainment, or rest.
The design envisions a win-win ecosystem: users gain meaningful space and services during charging, while energy providers become platforms for spatial interaction and information exchange.

Electric vehicle charging stations are equipped with multi-angle projection systems to create personalized spaces for every driver, family, or commuter. These projections transform the confined interior of a vehicle into a space filled with expansive possibilities during charging time.

Design Detail
The charging station integrates a foldable robotic arm that retracts neatly into its core structure when idle. Upon activation, the arm automatically extends downward to align with rooftop charging ports on future electric vehicles, enabling both power delivery and digital data transmission.
Embedded within the station’s rotating joints on both sides are positioning cameras and projection units. Once aligned, these side-mounted systems project visual content onto the vehicle’s side windows, creating a dynamic, immersive experience. Additionally, a front-facing camera and projector work together to detect the windshield’s position and project customized visuals directly onto it. Together, these systems transform the vehicle’s confined interior into a personalized, expanded space during charging time.
